Hello lovely Seasunfolk readers! Grace here from flowerpotsanddaisies, I am so excited to be writing for seasunfolk!
I am a bit of a sucker for inspiring quotes, I admit it, when I see one I always feel an internal boost of self-confidence. So here I have gathered five of my favourite inspirational quotes for you lovely lot to read and enjoy and hopefully feel as inspired as I do when I read them.
Each of these five quotes have a reason of why you are reading them in my article here.
The first “You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore” is because of something a little more personal. I am the sort of person that usually won’t take an opportunity as I am too afraid of stuffing up. This quote has helped me to be who I am and I think if it weren’t for this quote, I wouldn’t be blogging, and you wouldn’t be reading this article.
The second “anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve” has a similar reason to the first one. A few weeks ago I was asked to participate in a fashion show to show my clothing item that I had made in my textiles class. I was a bit hesitant at first. My inner voice started talking to me, what if no one likes it? What if I stuff up? You know the voice I’m talking about. The one that is against all your confidence and positivity. But, I shoved that voice down the drain and took the opportunity. And I had one of the best nights in a very long time. Sometimes you need to push that voice away, no matter how hard it is, to take an opportunity that might never come again. Oh and I forgot to add, we got given pizza for dinner. I am VERY glad I took that opportunity!
The third, just a daily reminder. “Be kind, work hard and be humble”. Trust me, you will succeed if you are all of those things, whether it be a maths exam or a work experience, it pays off.
“Be a voice not an echo” is a lot more important to me than most of the others. I am very good in falling into the ‘be like everyone else and do anything to make them like you’ category, created by the ever so generous society. A lot of the time I will do things to make others feel happy. But when I’m older, I realise I will have nothing to look back on other than ticking off other people’s goals, and not my own. With this quote I have learnt that I don’t need to be accepted by society to be successful in something. The only person I need to be accepted by is myself, and if I’m not happy, what’s the point?
The last one is simple, don’t let negativity crowd the amazing person that is yourself, think happy thoughts, be happy and you will be a happy chappy forever.
I really hope you enjoyed reading this little article, I trust these quotes will inspire you as much as they have inspired me. If you are reading this, you are beautiful and don’t let society tell you otherwise. Spread happy vibes around like confetti!
Love you all lots
Love, Grace xx
